Why Maths Doctor

Maths is important

Using statistics may seem like it’s completely pointless to you but there’s a very good reason why studying statistics in maths will benefit you in the long run. If you think about it, we’re faced with statistics every day; you may even be a statistic yourself. Four out of ten people in this class will gain B grades or above, for example. As if that isn’t enough pressure already, we’re bombarded with reasons why we should buy things. You may watch an advert and see energy drinks with the line, ‘8 out of 10 people that passed their exams drank this’. Maths will teach you to use logic in these situations and consider the possibility that students who drank this energy drink passed because they studied, rather than because of the drink. You won’t be easily fooled if you take the lessons you learn while studying maths and apply them to everyday life.
