Many will profess not to know any, but as we all know tuition is becoming a necessity for most parents, especially those who want the best for their kids. We know that people who live in the vicinity of Uxbridge Road have high aspirations for their children.

And if you do have those high aspirations, you will know as parents, the importance of maths. In fact, it’s almost illegal not to do well! And if you don’t pass at a certain level, especially at your GCSE in Maths, employers won’t give you a second look. We know it’s important, so we’ve set up Maths Doctor. We aim to get the very best for your child.

Why Maths Doctor

Maths is important

According to the Minister for Education, good qualifications in English and maths are what employers are demanding nowadays. Having good functional skills is essential to solving practical problems at work. These could include anything from working out why your printer won’t respond - to dealing with an awkward customer. Without good numeracy skills you are likely to to fare less well in the employment marketplace, and are far more likely to be unemployed. This new emphasis on maths is partly down to the changing face of the job industry. Nowadays, with the decline of manufacturing, there are fewer unskilled jobs around. There’s been an upsurge in the market for employees in the service industries however, where an understanding of I.T, target setting and financial awareness is often required. Not only do the best paid jobs tend to go to people with good mathematical skills, but they tend to be more demanding and enjoyable jobs. A good grounding in maths will also make it easier to switch jobs in order to find one which ideally suits.
