At learning and technology fair BETT 2013, Maths Doctor literally embodied the belief that teaching and learning maths should be interactive and fun.

As we launched our exciting new Open Education Resource, we were mobbed by hordes of attendees from the UK and overseas who wanted to be snapped with the Maths Doctors.

Even Johnny Ball, the veteran TV presenter and father/father-in-law of DJs Zoe Ball and Fat Boy Slim, lined up for a shot (after confirming that we weren’t scary mad scientists!). Johnny was an early proponent of the need to teach maths in an engaging, entertaining way, making it ‘un-stuffy’, easy to understand and fun for young people: “To my mind the object of any maths tutoring service is not just to push forward the learning front and ability of the student, but to demonstrate that learning and achieving is fun and that, at all times, the learning experience is broadening their outlook on maths and its importance.”

Maths Doctor will be back in action at the Education Show in Birmingham’s NEC from 14-16 March – we look forward to seeing you there.
