#### 10.15.2020

v

This trick may seem pretty easy, but you’d be surprised how many people don’t know it!

To multiply ANY number by 4, simply multiply it by 2 and then double the answer.

35 x 4:

35 x 2 = 70

70 x 2 = 140

35 x 4 = 140

## How the mathematrick works

This trick is based on a very simple fact: 2 x 2 = 4 That means that: 35 x 4 = 35 x (2 x 2) And 35 x 2 x 2 70 x 2 140

The underlying reason behind this mathematrick is that you can solve a multiplication problem by multiplying by its factors.
