Why Maths Doctor

Education in Hayes

Over one quarter of the state funded primary schools which serve the west London town of Hayes are currently oversubscribed. Approximately 150 students take up places in the areas state primary facilities that don’t rightly exist for them. Unsurprisingly, this results in a similar number of appeals being lodged on the matter by residents each year.

Maths is important

Maths is often seen as one of those subjects that kids are either good at naturally or they're not. This is an unfortunate perception since it can often make kids think that if they're not already good at the subject then there's no point trying to get better at it. The key to changing this mindset is to show how maths is actually incredibly important and can help them in everyday life. One of the most practical uses for maths in everyday life is in calculating the cost of things. For example when paying for food in a supermarket, being able to do maths well means you can easily calculate how much items cost, which is extremely useful for sticking to a budget. Maths can also help greatly with decision making. It teaches a child to think logically about how to tackle different problems, a huge asset especially in the business world.
